Meet the Committee

Our committee is made up of passionate members who keep the club running smoothly - from organising rides and socials to managing the finances and membership.

Here’s who’s behind the scenes making it all happen.

Club Chairman – Tony Van Bergenhenegouwen

Leading the way forward
Tony provides the vision and leadership that steer the club’s direction. He chairs meetings, represents us at external events, and ensures we stay true to our constitution and values. Above all, Tony is passionate about the wellbeing of our members - always ready to listen, support, and make sure everyone feels part of the LCC community.


Primary Role: Provide leadership and oversee the club's strategic direction.


Grew up in: still growing up!

Member since: 2018/ Founder Member

Dream riding location: Pan-American Highway (Alaska to Argentina)

Club Secretary – Louise Greig

The organiser and communicator
Louise keeps the club’s admin wheels turning. From preparing agendas and managing official documents to external correspondence and the LCC Newsletter, she ensures everyone stays informed and connected.


Primary Role: Organise and handle administration and communication.


Grew up in: 80s

Member since: February 2024

Dream riding location: Anywhere sunny and warm!

Club Treasurer/ Ride Leader Blue Group– Chris Birtwhistle

Keeping our finances in gear
Chris manages the club’s financial health, ensuring every pound is accounted for and wisely spent. From budgets to audits, he keeps things transparent and compliant. Chris also ensures Blue group rides are safe, inclusive, and well-organised.


Primary Role: Manage the club’s finances and organise and oversee Blue rides.


Grew up in: 60s/70s

Member since: March 24

Dream Riding Location: Anywhere in the British countryside.

Membership Secretary/ Spond Administrator – Brian Oldham

Champion of our members
Brian makes sure every member feels welcome and valued. He manages onboarding, renewals, and ensures our member records are always up to date.


Primary Role:  Manage member engagement and records.


Grew up in: 50s/70s

Member since: June 2024

Dream Riding Location: Shropshire and the Marches (it feels a bit like France)

Social Secretary – Mark Gibbins

Bringing the fun factor
Mark is the heartbeat of our social scene - from Club pizza nights to away trips, he ensures there’s always something to look forward to off the bike too.


Primary Role: Plan and organise social activities and trips.


Grew up in: 80s

Member since: 2022

Dream riding location: French Alps

Ride Leader: Black Group - Wes Degeling

The front of the pack

Being of Dutch descent, riding a bike is in Wes’s blood! His enthusiasm and experience keep our Black Group rides safe, steady, and fun. Wes plans routes, supports all riders, and makes sure every club ride runs smoothly from start to finish.


Primary Role:  Organise and oversee road cycling club rides and events.


Grew up in: The Netherlands 80s/90s

Member since: 2020

Dream riding location: French Pyrenees

Ride Leader: Red Group - Graham Burns

Always looking for the next challenge

Graham brings with him a calm, sensible attitude to the Red Group. Happy to encourage, listen and support members during rides making sure everyone enjoys and remains safe.

 Being a regular traveller, he's always keen to explore and find new and interesting places to visit.


Primary Role:  Organise and oversee road cycling club rides and events.

Dream riding location: Mallorca

Ride Leader: Green Group - Nicky Homer

Passionate about people and pedalling
Cycling has always been Nicky’s passion, and it shows in every ride she leads. She brings energy, warmth, and encouragement to the Green Group, ensuring rides are safe, supportive, and full of good vibes.


Primary Role:  Organise and oversee road cycling club rides and events.

Member since: February 2022

Dream riding location: My homeland; the Isle of Man

Ride Leader: Zwift - James Gilbert

Guiding Virtual Cyclists to New Heights
James brings a wealth of technical and riding experience to LCC, he’ll answer queries, help new riders get set up, and ensure everyone feels included. He encourages LCC’s Zwift race community to develop their fitness goals, via friendly & fun competitions, to get them ready for the spring/summer outdoor season.


Primary role: Organise regular Zwift rides

Member since: June 2025

Dream riding location: Mallorca

Spond Administrator – Martin Robertson

Our tech and system guru
Martin keeps the club’s membership system (Spond) running seamlessly. With a sharp eye for detail and a calm approach, he makes sure members, ride leaders, and events all stay connected and organised. Always ready to help, Martin ensures Spond runs like a well-oiled chain.


Primary Role: Manage and update club membership system


Grew up in: 70s

Dream riding location: The Wiltshire & Somerset countryside with a few hills

Spond Administrator – Andy Greig

Our digital problem solver
Andy’s the go-to for keeping Spond ticking smoothly. He helps members navigate the system, updates settings and forms, and ensures communication flows perfectly between groups. With a knack for troubleshooting, Andy keeps everything rolling without a hitch.


Primary Role: Manage and update club membership system


Grew up in: Hong Kong in the 80s

Member since: February 2024

Dream riding location: Mallorca

Kit Officer and Website Lead – Scott Stickland

Keeping us looking sharp - on and off the bike
Scott manages everything to do with the club’s look and feel - from our kit design to our online presence. He ensures members ride out in style, our branding stays consistent, and the club website remains up to date and easy to use.


Primary Role: Manage club kit and gear, and maintain and update LCC website


Grew up in: 70s/80s

Volunteering is a hugely rewarding way to give back, meet new people, and make a real difference. When everyone lends a hand now and then, rather than leaving it to a few, we can achieve even more together - on and off the bike! Our Voice and Storyteller

We’re looking for someone to take the lead on keeping our members informed and inspired! This role is perfect for a good communicator with a knack for crafting clear, engaging messages, and an enthusiasm for helping pull the bi-monthly Club Newsletter together.


Primary Role: Oversee the club’s internal communications

Events Coordinator

Making things happen
We’re looking for someone to help plan and deliver the club’s key cycling events - from organised rides and charity challenges to community activities. This is a great opportunity to bring your organisational skills and enthusiasm to the heart of club life.
